Vertical Siding Is A Popular Choice

When most people think about protecting the property the thing that instantly comes to mind is installing good quality siding, and for most people this means vertical siding, since it has been proved to be one of the more durable siding types, and which can be easily installed, either by a householder himself or by employing a professional siding installer. This article will take a look at some of the considerations that need to be borne in mind before choosing vertical siding for your house or other property.

One of the main materials nowadays is vinyl, and the good thing about this is that it is very strong and can last for many years without any maintenance. Low-maintenance siding is something that many people look for, because the last thing they want is to have to keep repainting the siding every few years, although with many different siding types, including concrete and cement fiber siding, the painting often only needs to be done every six to seven years at the most, which means that in itself it is also a low-maintenance option.

Low maintenance aluminum

Metal vertical siding has been making a splash in the last few years, and this is especially true when you look at these use aluminum, which is itself a low-maintenance metal which can be painted in any color you like, and painting which will usually last about five years. Many people choose to have bright colors painted on the side of the house, and using metal siding in this way has become a very popular choice for many households.

You do not need to have specialist skills to install siding, especially the vertical type, but it can be a good thing to take advice from a professional in this way. Many siding contractors specialize in choosing siding from a particular manufacturer, and this can be the case of Alcoa siding, which is a specialization of many people. However, for the most part people tend to choose the material (cedar siding, for instance) rather than any particular supplier, perhaps something which can add a very rustic feel to a property and can therefore be an excellent choice for the more traditional housing styles and architecture, particularly in the semi-rural areas and its suburbs.

House refurbishment Price is always an issue when it comes to doing a large house refurbishment job such as this, and so many people often will take a look at whether or not it is possible to buy wholesale siding, thinking that this can save some money. Although it is true, you may find that the choice of wholesale siding is not as large as buying it from a retail establishment, and you will usually find that most siding contractors will tend to want to buy the siding themselves rather than having you, the householder, supply the materials. However money can be saved if you do it right, though you may want to make sure you can get a specialist siding type, and that includes some of the insulated types, something which is extremely important if you live in a cold climate and want to save on your heating bills. In this respect, LP smartside is worth looking at, as are other types of fiber siding which can make a great impact on your residential property.

Most vertical siding is supplied as vertical panels, which means that the installation can be fairly easy and therefore something that a good DIY enthusiast can carry out. A company that has been mentioned recently is Norandex, and this could be worthy of consideration, especially if you are looking for something that has a reputation. Of course, the main consideration for most householders is by far is that the siding is durable, and for this reason people often move away from wood or plywood siding for something a bit more hardy, including some of the metal and concrete styles. Still, log siding, for instance, is still one of the many choices for many people, though if going this way you need to make sure that the battons are fixed properly and the flashing is also done to a high standard.

The right siding budget

When it comes to prices it is a good idea to do some research in order that you can budget properly for job in hand. The good news is that there are several companies and suppliers who have a wide range of high quality siding, some of which can be bought at a discount or for extremely cheap price if you take the time to look around. It can even be possible to get the popular seamless siding type, which gives a really smooth look to your house, and has great weatherproofing qualities into the bargain. You also shouldn't forget that vertical siding can also give really great insulation, helping to cut down on your heating bills.

For a modern look, consider white steel vertical siding, a durable siding that is stronger than aluminum versions. It can be silicon polyester, and which keeps its shape in high and low temperature. Also take a look at gray aluminum vertical siding, usually available with a 2" Mesa deluxe pattern and 5/8" grip lock with a seamless finish. Average coverage areas are 3'9" width x 8' length.

Range of colors

However, it is not only the practical side that you need to think about, but also with the aesthetic, and it is here that vertical siding can excel in its range of colors, with many shades being available, including the obvious traditional white, right through to vivid colors such as yellow, blue, and even hues of pink, although to get some of the more offbeat colors may require a touch of paint from the householder.

Overall, take time to do some research and ask questions of any siding contractor hired to do a job. They should be able to give you advice on styles as well as cost, because you always need to remember that fitting siding can be an expensive job, and you need to make sure you're getting value for money no matter which way you go, either the do-it-yourself route or the full service from a professional contractor.
